Denniz Hernandez, PSY.D.
Dr. Denniz Hernandez joined Allied Pain & Spine Institute in 2022. She obtained her Doctorate in Psychology in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2019.
She received post-doctoral training at the Pasadena Rehabilitation Institute, where she gained experience in pain management; helping patients overcome chronic pain by minimizing psychological, emotional, and physical barriers that keep patients from achieving their maximum functionality and full potential.
Her goal is to ensure that patient’s emotional, mental, and physical needs are considered in treatment by providing a compassionate and trusting environment, along with coping techniques to help them overcome life challenges.
Her clinical competence includes working with diverse populations dealing with mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. She has experience in providing individual, group, and family counseling in English and Spanish, administering psychological and neuropsychological assessments and working with a broad range of psychiatric disorders.
She also has specialized training in biofeedback and relaxation techniques to help patients with chronic pain or anxiety disorders. She utilizes several psychological treatment models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, meditation, and stress management.
In her spare time, Dr. Hernandez enjoys bike riding, swimming, and going to the beach with her family.
